I'm running to represent the 2nd Ward on the Columbia City Council because I can offer a more balanced perspective about the issues facing our city. As a business owner, a veteran and a civic leader, I have had life experiences and leadership opportunities that differ from those of our other council members. Liberty
The City of Columbia has grown very intrusive in the scope and extent to which it regulates the lives of its citizens. If elected, I will work to restore the proper balance between the just use of government power and proper respect for the liberty of the people.
Limited Government
A government must have sufficient power to accomplish its proper purposes but local government can often interfere with the free choices of its individual citizens. If elected, I will work to restore proper limits to the scope of city government activity and to the application of its power.
The Rule of Law
All human beings are equal in the eyes of God and should be treated as such, including equal treatment before the law. If elected, I will work to strengthen the rule of law in Columbia and to restrain the arbitrary power exercised by politically unaccountable officials.
